Weekly update #2.

OK a bit late this one. I'm afraid I got sidetracked by an Ork Blood Bowl team.
Well I finally finished painting the Grenadier company. Really great miniatures to paint.

I guess I'm going to have to buy some more now.
First up I will finish my French battalion, then finish this Saxon one.
Figures by Calpe miniatures.
Cheers.

Weekly update #1

This is going to be the start of a weekly blog post documenting my Napoleonic miniature painting. Some weeks will only be a couple of figures, others might be whole units.
So to start I thought I would share what I've painted since the weekend.

First we have a French command stand I finished. I only needed the Sapper and Drummer for completion so I knuckled down and got them done.
Calpe miniatures which are outstanding

Next I started on a company of Saxon Grenadiers. This is mainly to practice my white paint technique. I've gone for a grey base for the trousers and belts, and a sand base for the jacket.
Again outstanding Calpe miniatures.

Until next week.
Cheers.

Saxon Jaeger.

I've just finished a unit of Saxon Jaeger. Miniatures are by Calpe, and were great to paint.

Friday, 22 June 2018

Another French command base finished. This one is for the 1690's ish. We have a Noble and a professional General arguing on the best strategy to use. I will have to work on 2 plans and randomly roll for which one to use.

The miniatures are by Warfare miniatures.

More work on my French battalion.

Slowly getting my 1st French battalion finished. Re-did the Eagle. Added a hand made cravat and a new flag. Also finished a 6 figure skirmish unit of lights. When these are deployed the close order stand will be removed.

Cheers.

Prussian Fusilier battalion and Dragoons.

Well 2018 didn't start with a bang, more of a cough and sneeze. Well I still managed to get some painting done. Hopefully now thats over I can get back to hobbying.

First up is the Fusilier battalion I painted. It's from the 1st Silesian Regiment. The miniatures are by Calpe which are outstanding as always.

This is just a 12 figure test unit I painted up in a simpler style than normal. It came out better than I thought, so has given me something to think about.

Next I finished a Squadron of Prussian Dragoons. Again miniatures by Calpe, and again outstanding sculpts.

Beautiful figures to paint. Hopefully some more to come.

Cheers.

An update at last.
